A friend came by a few days ago and had these babies for me. A very awesome surprise. She'd been to a convention of sorts for African Violets and bought them for me. Happy happy joy joy. They are two different mini Violets. One of them had a bud growing. And just the other day it started blooming. It's so tiny and cute. The flower is just about a cm across, and the leafs are about 1,5-2 cm max. The other one is slightly larger in the leafs but not by much. Oh I'm so happy, I love them. :-)

Moar flower power.
I'm visiting Sugar and my plants atm.
Taking some time of from thinking about the storage mess by taking care of the flowers. ( Yes I know I should do more "doing" and less "thinking", I will. ) Some of them just need some tlc, some need a whole new pot and soil.
And one of them I threw away. I felt too sorry for it. It wasn't doing well at all. One of those "I don't want to to live what ever you do to me" plants. Shit happens. The plant in the img here is going to get a whole new pot and soil. It had pretty much migrated out of the pot by doing these "babies". Poor baby...
But shit happens. Quite a lot with these flowers. I had one once that I needed to re-plant once every year cuz he kept trying to escape the pot. Maybe I should have taken the hint ? Or something. ^^

Plant care.
Yesterday I had some quality time with my plants. I'm so happy every time I check on them and see that they're still alive and doing ok. They're doing much better than last winter. I wonder if it is because I've put them all near the window and maybe the light from there together with the fixture is doing them good.
Last time many of them lost a lot of leafs. But probably much to do with me forgetting to water them properly. This winter is much better. I guess it's good to buy "special" plants that you care even more about. I have a few now who if they died, would make me so miserable. Only had one death so far.
That was a flower I had duplicates of so no worries there. I do hope the remaining one stays alive tho. But now, it's tea time. My room smells of Geraniums and dirt. Nice. And I have a big cup of tea and cupcakes that are waiting for me. It's a good day.

Cute as a Button.
Something I've noticed when I've started being creative with yarn, is that sooner or later you will need buttons. In all kinds of shapes and sizes. The few I've used so far I've taken from my moms stash. But a while ago I got a gift card at a store here that sells stuff for your home. The curtain and fabric kind of stuff
I went there a few days ago and got this lovely little bag of goodies. Random sizes and colors. Some I really really like, and some that I think I'll just have to use. Not that I know what for, yet. I'll be working on that part. Either way, I feel kinda "granny-ish" when I get happy about stuff like this. Yarn and a bag of buttons.

What to do ? Keep calm and crochet on. :-P

Awh moment.
The third of my four African Violet leafs I planted quite a while ago has started to grow now. It's always such a "awh" moment when I see it. I know I tried making plants like this when I was little, but I didn't have the patience to wait for them to grow. So ofc I never succeeded. But this is now the 4:th plant I've got growing like this. Yes, I am very pleased with my self. If I may say so. The fourth leaf is still green and doesn't show any signs yet of dying so I hope in time she'll grow too.

Oh..
Found a mail in my inbox today. From someone who had read my blog and was kind enough to leave a mark and wish me a Merry Christmas. I'm touched. It was very nice to find that in between all the junk mail.
What I was supposed to say here though is that my funny geranium has started to bloom. Woke up to see it just the other day. Also a very welcome sight. This flower has a very bright pink color, almost unreal I'd say. I'm keeping an extra eye on her now. To make sure she has plenty of water and everything else since she decided to bloom in the winter. So far so good. :-)

Happiness in a pot.
Took care of my plants today. Real care.
Checked everything and made sure they're looking good and feeling happy. And apparently some of them are happier than others.
Found this beauty in the front row close to the window.
And here I had a suspicion that she might not be feeling that perky. I'm happy however, to be wrong.

Creativeness @ work.
Been letting my creativity work a bit. Stayed up late one night watching Ultraviolet and drawing at the kitchen table. This lady is one of the pictures I got down on paper. Very pleased with it. I've got more drawings in my head waiting for the right moment. I also drew a cat. I've got a thing for cats at the moment I think. Interesting.
Also been crocheting like hell. Working on a fairly big tablecloth in green and white. It would have been done by now but I ran out of white yarn. Half way on the last lap.... Bugger. Gonna go buy more when I have the moment for it. Until then I'm doing a few small works in between. Like granny squares and warmers for my wrists.
Also found this awesomely cute Hippo pattern that I'd like to do. Trying to work out if I have the economy to buy the pattern or not. We'll see.

Geranium galore.
It's time. The air outside is telling me so. That is, it's time to move my flowers back inside from the greenhouse. They've been living the life of kings and queens out there. Growing and blooming like crazy. It's been just wonderful to go out there and see them all. The only downside is that the air in my room hasn't been that awesome since I moved them out. Guess that will improve now. ^^
I'm a bit curious about my lack of space tho. So far I've moved most of them back in, and there's still a little room left. But I'm not sure all of the rest will fit. I will do my best ofc. But I might have to borrow some window space from my mom. The big problem is where to put my Physalis plant. It's grown quite big and I can't cut it short just yet. It's full of growing fruits. Awesomeness.

And some pics ofc. In order... The first batch of Geraniums and a before pic of my little window space. Needed some cleaning. Then an after img, or really half way. And the random unknown Geranium I bought in Lkpg. I got the color right anyway. Then my baby Apple Blossom. Most awesome to get to see it bloom. Yes I'm weird. The last 3 are also unknown but pretty none the less.
The red one is a shoot taken from my moms in laws, last summer. The bright pink one is from a plant my mom had. And the last one is not shown in it's full glory. And by that I mean it's a bad img because the flower is more to the blueish direction rather than the pink one it looks like here. All of them were in need of a "haircut". Well, haven't cut the red one yet. But I will when I move her.
Yikes. This turned out to be a long one. Oh well, happens sometimes. :)

Seeds of happiness.
I've been good today. Replanting some flowers and digging through my storage once again. At least this time I found everything I wanted to find. Which was a few books, some flavored coffee and a mini coffee maker. Oh and yes, a few pots and soil ofc. I admit the soil wasn't top quality anymore but it worked, and a shame to throw away. I took the liberty of replanting a flower for my most awesome host and plant caretaker too. Forgot to take a pic of that tho, not that it matters much.
I also went to IKEA a few days ago. ( My but didn't like that. I hate the saddle on my bike. ) Didn't really need anything, just happened to be in the area. Lol. :-P But I found a set of 3 green paper cups with seeds. Thyme, Coriander and Basil. Cost me only 19:- sek so I had to buy it. I'm a sucker for growing stuff I know. The same day my mom sent me an sms saying that the bunch of seeds we ordered online had arrived. Awesomeness. And it's soon time to start growing the first ones.
The mishap with all my seeds going down the drain doesn't feel that bad now. I've got new seeds and months of seeding and plant care in front of me. Spring should come around the corner in not too many weeks and I've started the work on applying to that florist school I found. Things are looking very peachy right now. I just hope I get accepted. Only bad thing is that my mood has been like a small roller coaster for a few days now but it's a good day today. Let's hope for more like it. :-)

Physalis.
Will there be a fruit inside ?
I have no idea, I sort of doubt it actually.
Another thing I'll just have to wait and see.
Looking forward to it.

Adorable Pink Lady.
She's supposed to be hard to get to survive over the winter.
But I hope not, she's so adorable.
And I think she likes her new home.

My winter babe.
So, I have a lot of flowers currently living with a good friend of mine. This is one of them. I don't remember when I bought it but it's at least 1,5 years ago now. It's a sort of blooming cactus. When you buy them here in the shop they're called either spring, winter, summer or autumn cactus. So far I don't know the difference between them except that the flowers all look a bit different. I think.
Anyways. It was early spring and still cold outside when I bought mine. It was blooming in the shop. But they're a bit sensitive and the walk home in the cold chocked it and all the flowers fell of. After that it got a bit abused because of me being depressed so it didn't bloom again. That is until it moved in with my most awesome friend.
In his care it decided to send out flowers again. I visited when it had buds big enough to burst, but sadly wasn't there for the blooming. But he was very kind and sent me these pictures so I could at least see how it looked. I think they're gorgeous, ofc. I do hope I can get it to bloom like this again when I have it back in my care. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Gah I wish I could move right now.

A good morning.
I found this pretty lady when I woke up today. Translated from Swedish it's an English Geranium. But I'm pretty sure they have a different name in English really. I just can't remember it right now, I'll check it up later. But I will forget it again. Anyways, it's a very pretty flower none the less.
The other day I was on my way to cut of some babies from her to make new flowers. I wanna give one to my mom because her flower died earlier this summer because of some icky white vermin that decided to visit. But, when I went down to cut of the pieces. I noticed she's got flower buds all over her self. And I just can't cut those of. So I guess I'll have to wait a while. :-)

Happy plants happy me.
It seems my plants are enjoying their new home and artificial sunlight. I'm gonna keep my eye on them closely for a while longer anyway. In case need to adjust the height of the lamp or anything. But so far so good.
Most of the flowers standing under it have been outside during the summer. Standing in the small greenhouse in the garden. I haven't payed them enough attention out there sadly. But it looks like they've been doing fine. But it's a lot more fun to have them back in my room. Every morning when I wake up the first thing I notice and check is my flowers.
It gives me energy and happy feelings when I take care of my flowers and watch them grow and be happy. I love it.

And now....
More gardening.
Mom and I made a patch for the strawberries ( both big and small ones ) and the poor little rhubarb today. These plants have been badly neglected due to unforeseen events. They needed to be saved and finally it was their day. I'll admit mom did most of the digging sadly.
This is just the start tho. We're gonna extend the patch and make a new one eventually because mom wants to buy some blueberries and a cute white kind of strawberries. I totally agree.
I'm very happy that my mom is sharing her garden with me. But I'm really missing my poor lonely plants I left when I moved up here. I tried to convince my ex hubby to take care of them a little but we'll see if he does. I'll give them some love when I'm there again.
Oh ye, not to forget. We planted a little bush too.
Lots of tlc for the garden today.

I love summer.
It's blooming outside.
It's very sunny and warm.
And only 2 days left until Swiss.
Awesome.
It's also random picture day. Or maybe not so random.
